New work for Haarlems Dagblad. The article is about a meeting of the Youth Council. It’s a club of 30 Haarlem’s high school students that gives advice to Alderman Jur Botter. The youngsters are working on a plan to make mental problems among youngsters more discussable. They notice that the subject is often still taboo and that young people do not know where to turn.
A girl from the Youth Council said that she herself had been dealing with severe panic attacks, but that it took more than six months before she finally got help. At first she did not know where to find the right help (someone from school? General practitioner? Psychologist?). And once she found help, she had to wait months for an appointment.
